For the last 3 weeks of the month Chevy’s grandparents have been away on holidays and Chevy was looking after their dog, Jewelie.  Chevy did a wonderful job, fed her and took her for “hikes” everyday!  A few days before they were due to come home, I was tryign to prepare Chevy for when Grandma would take Jewelie back home….. “No!  Jewie has to stay!! That makes me upset!!!”  I tried to reason with her buuuuuuuuuut….

Then finally Grandma came to take Jewelie home….it all ended in tears….allllll afternoon.

“I want my own special dog!”

I let her cry it out over the phone with Dad-Dad.

So – less than a week later, we brought Cooley home!!

I think Chevy LOVES her special dog!!

P1050653  P1050654

…and special she is!  Cooley was rescued by her loving foster family about 3 months ago from a farmer in the Wells Gray area who was about to “put her down” for not being a working dog. (Pssssst – she’s a border collie!!!).  the farmers daughter also managed to break the poor little puppy’s front leg too and didn’t bother to look after it.  Cooley was a very lucky pup (much luckier than her unfortunate brothers…..) and the foster family took her in and helped her learn, grow and heal!  It was with great consideration and love that they decided to find a good home for her…and lucky for us that we crossed paths!!  Ladies, if you are reading this….THANKYOU!!! Thank you for letting us give your dog her “forever” home and for doing such a wonderful job taking care of her.  I know it was hard to let her go, but Cooley IS having a lot of FUN and will have tons of very cool adventures to come!!
