So – Johnny‘s off on a “Boy’s Only” weekend….It’s our buddy, D’arcy’s birthday (Happy Birthday D’arcy!!!). The guys went to West Bank, Kelowna and they’re up to no good I’m sure! Check out his website in the next few days to see some of the debauchery yourself…..
Anywhoooo – My little sister, Jana, and I headed out to the Squamish River valley for some camping. Back when we were just young girlies, our parents used to take us camping like this almost every long weekend during the summer and fall. Actually, all it is – is a bunch of Czech people (young and old!) hanging out, eating well, drinking booze, singing by a campfire, remembering the good ol’ days, and sleeping under the stars for a weekend.

…This is just the way I remembered it:

We met Zdenek, who is a member of a real Mariachi Band!! He is amazing!

And this is Rudy, who is a Prospector by trade! He knows a lot about rocks, gems and minerals which was awesome since Jana is enrolled in Vancouver Community College’s Jewelry Art & Design Program. He is full of really cool facts and techniques! And he is really good at playing the fiddle:
