Dog Daze!
November 21st, 2005I noticed in the local paper that one of our public swimming pools was going to open up their pool to dogs and their owners for playtime…plus they were going to have a “dog-agility course” and trade show (Harley managed to eat her weight in cookies there!) and photos with Santa!
I thought…”what fun it would be to see Harley ripping around in a swimming pool”. I though wrong. I figured she would enjoy it since she just launches of the dock into the ocean at home. What I forgot was that Harley doesn’t do too well with highly energetic crowds. Even still, she did manage to …ummm… fall into the pool, but nothing I could think of could get her stoked on hanging out and showing off her talents.
What blew me away was the amount of people that came out with their dogs! Imagine the edges of the pool staked four deep with people and their furry-nosed buddies, dogs everywhere running around barking and splashing…and still a huge line up from the door to the road!
We didn’t stay long enough to see the talent run through the agility course, we left after Harley’s belly doubled in size from all the cookies she charmed out of all the dealers at the trade show…
