DAY TWO…

January 1st, 2005

In the morning we found a little present down the hall left by the resident dog….must have felt sick or something….

The hill was closed due to the fine weather we were experiencing. About -23 with high winds.

We went for a hike anyway. Johnny and I went to the top of the ski hill where the temperature plummeted to -27, add to that the wind chill = about -45.

The Murray Mtns are behind me….

Mmmmmm…..human popsicles.

The snow and skiing wasn’t bad. There is A LOT of snow here, but its too bad that the wind got at it and it was so cold. The snow was so slow in places and if you weren’t on your toes (too cold to feel them anyway) it could surprise you. Too cold for the camera to work…too cold to stop for pictures anyway. This hill looks like it could be tons of fun….judging by the terrain and the locals’ enthusiasm…

me, crying because I let my feet warm up too fast…

A quick snack and a cosy nap and we were ready to take on New Years….

The owner lining up a few shooters to ring in 2005…

We met new friends….meet Chip Wood. He’s a logger. No really. That’s his name.

Can you geuss where his left hand is?
