Day Seven…
October 15th, 2005Today was Salvage and Ventilation day. In the morning, Engine 2 and 1 were practising Verticle Ventilation skills on a simulated roof. Just to know just how hard it would be, we had to make our first cuts with a pick-head axe:
Then the rest of the cuts were to be made with a chain saw:

In the afternoon we learned how to properly fold salvage tarps…..
and how to effectively and easily toss the salvage tarps over “furniture”:
