Day Fourteen…

Test Butterflies!!!

…thinking we could have a little bit of a sleep in and no morning run because it was test day – we were woken up early with a “60 seconds!” drill at about 5:30. I was kinda mad. I hadn’t much sleep before that. Ohwell.
Alphabetical order for the State Skills exam, so that made me near the top. No one knew which ones we were going to be tested on until yuou actually walked into it. I was so nervous on teh first one – I almost completely blew it. End result was that I only missed 2 points on that particular skill (hazmat) – still a pass!! The second skill was donning our SCBA – which was the one skill we knew we’d get, because everyone get that one. Only missed one point on that one – for time, which I knew would happen – so I focused on getting it perfect instead. My last skill was probably one of the easiest ones that you could ever draw on a final……folding a huge salvage tarp properly with a “helper”. Then it was alllll over. Except for the Final Written. I forget how many questions long it was, something like 200….I took all the time that was allotted..just wanting to amke sure I got it right….
You know when you walk out of an exam, and start discussing certain questions with the rest of the group….and someone else answers the same question differently??? And know you’re left wondering if you answered it right at all????
I hate that.
Last minute clean up and packing, and then we went to the local church for our Graduation Ceremonies. After, we hauled a** over to the hotel, showered, changed and then went to teh restaurant that had tables reserved for us. It happened that fast.
I experienced a “Texas-sized” Margarita. I was floored. It was a mighty huge drink I’ll have you know….and the steak was large enough to soak up only some of the tequila…..
Next stop was “Cowboys” …..it was full of…..cowboys. and beer…..
And that’s all I can tell you (cause I can hardly remember)… you had to be there!

Home tomorrow!!
