Almost Done!!!
Second to last day….getting to the point where I don’t want to leave now…..
Hmmm.
Today was all drill practise day. Everything we learned over the past few days, especially all the fireground drills – we practised over and over until we felt comfortable with our skills. This morning we wrote the last of our chapter review tests and then the “in-house” final written exam (300 questions!!!).
After training we had to pack up most of our belongings and do a final big clean of our living area, with a few hours left over to cram just a littel more study time!
Tomorrow, we have our State Skills exam, followed by the State Written final. I am so nervous!

Our second burn day was harder than the last….
Today we had full-on scenarios involving 2-3 Engine Companies at a time, a “basement fire”, multiple fires, and then ending with a LPG fire.
Here is what the burn building looks like when it’s got a nice hot fire inside:

Here are the “Stokers” before they lit the burn building up for a “basement fire”:

….and then after they made it niiiiice and hot for us:

Here’s me just about to make entry with my crew:

…and what we see when we’re crawling around with tools and a hose:
