5 pm… Johnny and I met the boys at the shop.
Got a ride up with Huck Wagon (Tim) and our own truck.
We all rode the usual trails down (CBC, Corkscrew, Pingu, Pangor…)
Today I was using my good ole Cove Stiffee hardtail-onespeed. This time tho it was giving me a lot of grief with the chain tensioning device (the thingy that makes it work as a one speed). I stopped to put the chain on and catch up to the group too many times and it was beginning to bug me. So I took the chain right off and kept going on the ride sans chain, chainless. I was super-pleased with myself that I could stay with the group and that I wasn’t holding anyone up!
Despite the fact that I didn’t have a chain, I had an unreal ride….really loving the hardtail riding!

On our last night shift our crew was invited to the BCIT Hangar to watch HMY’s 757 test the over wing exits chutes.
Hopefully this is the only time we’ll see this kind of thing happen….
The chutes come out with explosively amazing force, after which we were allowed to jump down the slide. I couldn’t believe how fast you can come cooking down the slide! No wonder we have heard that many injuries can occur when the passengers exit the aircraft this way…..
I will try to get the short clips up…
and my turn:
Cheers,

……finished Johnny’s old kayak!
I have to go to work tonight, but it was sooooo nice and sunny out, I couldn’t resist painting the boat so it could at last get in the water hopefully before the weather turns (doesn’t look like anytime soon – I hope!)
As promised, I have “after” pictures. Johnny finally came home from his adventures in Williams Lake for the annual 4:20 weekend. To follow up on his adventures, go here.
The “BEFORE” kayak:

and the “AFTER” kayak:

BIG difference! I’m stoked….and I think Johnny likes it too! Can’t wait to put it in the water….
Well, off to “Z” land. I have to have a nap before my 12 hour shift tonight….
‘night!
