Yeehaw!! One of the boys at work owed me a couple shifts so I was able to take my last two nights off (23/24th)….makes for a nicer/longer Christmas holiday.
So Johnny and I went to his folk’s place in Summerland. This year the family was supposed to have Christmas dinner at the Aunt and Uncle’s ranch at the other end of Summerland, but since they both got the flu, we ended up having dinner at Mom and Dad’s. It was great to see everyone again and spend time with them.
Usually we do lots of skiing up at Apex. This year we check things out for half a day. Got bored really fast because NO ONE has snow and barely anything was open. WE just skied enough to get our legs back. We were also hoping to see some more snow to arrive…but no luck…yet. So no pics of this trip, at least of skiing anyway. Just a few random family at Christmas shots that I took with my new camera that Santa-Johnny.
But really, all I wanted to do was to wish ya’ll a Merry Christmas!!!

I noticed in the local paper that one of our public swimming pools was going to open up their pool to dogs and their owners for playtime…plus they were going to have a “dog-agility course” and trade show (Harley managed to eat her weight in cookies there!) and photos with Santa!
I thought…”what fun it would be to see Harley ripping around in a swimming pool”. I though wrong. I figured she would enjoy it since she just launches of the dock into the ocean at home. What I forgot was that Harley doesn’t do too well with highly energetic crowds. Even still, she did manage to …ummm… fall into the pool, but nothing I could think of could get her stoked on hanging out and showing off her talents.
What blew me away was the amount of people that came out with their dogs! Imagine the edges of the pool staked four deep with people and their furry-nosed buddies, dogs everywhere running around barking and splashing…and still a huge line up from the door to the road!

We didn’t stay long enough to see the talent run through the agility course, we left after Harley’s belly doubled in size from all the cookies she charmed out of all the dealers at the trade show…
Here are a coupla pics:

Here’s what happens when you take about 15 girls, add their bikes, mix in some snow, some rad trails, good food, music, booze and a photographer……
