Two things happened yesterday…..
First – it was the COVE/CBC/NSMBATrail Maintenance Day up on Mt Seymour! About 25 volunteers showed up to help out yesterday and a whole pile of work got done. Those of you that frequent that trail will notice the great work done up to the “gerbil cage” log ride! THANK YOU to all those rad people who did all that hard work! Cheers! Of course, it wouldn’t have happened so smoothly with out the help of other generous people…..the sponsors of the event: THE BEAN AROUND THE WORLD Coffee shop that provided vital fluids and a meeting point for CHUCKWAGON FREERIDE TOURS and BUSHPILOT BIKING to pick up all the volunteers. Lunch was provided by: SCHEIDERS MEATS, and SAFEWAY….. mmmmmm, burgers (and smokies too!)
Schwaggggg from the COVE BIKE SHOP (thanks to Jeff and Chaz!) and TOSS FREERIDE GEAR (thanks Colin!). And last but not the least……THE RAVEN PUB for providing a place for tired, and thirsty (of age – sorry boys) volunteers a place to put our feet up and enjoy (more) vital liquids (mmmmm, beer) and yummy appies! Of course, I mustn’t forget the NSMBA gang….Ya’ll rock. Thanks again to all….see yah next month (August 17) out on PINGU…details out next month! CHEERS>
Second, I went for a ride after the Raven….Smoke shuttled me and the three boys from Ottawa (here for a trip with BUSHPILOT) up to the Corkscrew trailhead. Just a quick evening rip for me…the second lap for the boys. Real bummer tho – John (King) managed to ruin his knee falling off the first log ride at the top. Fortunately, we were close to the road and he was able to coast down the raod to meet johnny at Safeway at the bottom.
Now the whole gang is with Smoke in the Okanagan (me so jealous) and I am staying behind for work and I will be out training the World CUP DH Course this Friday morning and racing this Saturday!!!
See ya’ll there!
Cheers,
B
