AFTERMATH…..Johnny just got back from his “boys only” trip late Monday night and is ruined. He picked up our Swedish guest yesterday and took him for a rip down “The Usual” (CBC, Corkscrew, Pingu, Boogeyman, Wayne’s World…) and was think that he was really tired…turned out to be an ugly cold. That put me on deck to guide Hjalmar for the rest of his trip. Funny thing, Johnny rented Hjalmar the peeler that I usually borrow from the shop, which left me with my good ol’ hardtail. SO TODAY we went over to Fromme to check out Upper Oil Can, Ladies Only, Lower Ladies. On the way up I showed Hjalmar the scenic points such as the ravine gap where Wade Simmons broke his leg, and Digger’s Cliff Drop at corner 5. By the time we got above the trail head for L.O, we realized that we didn’t have time to get any higher because Hjalmar had an appointment to meet a fella at the ferry to pruchase a Norco 4Hun. So a quick change of plans and we sped off down to L.O. and rode that. Hjalmar was thrilled! He rode the Peeler and Ladies Only like a champ! He was amazed at the structures on the trail…I only wish he could have met Digger…..
Hjalmar ended up buying the 4Hun from the kid….got a sweet deal. The bike was well kept.
As soon as Hjalmar got back from the ferry with Johnny, Hjalmar jumped in on a Cove Shop Ride with Trevor Porter. Tonight the boys took a trip down Ned’s, which Hjalmar hasn’t seen yet. By the sounds of it, Hjalmar had yet another great ride…as tired as he was…but he came back to a home-made spaghetti feast! YUMMY.
