April 27/2003

Big biker gang of old boys (11 including me) went over to Cypress (what?? Not Seymour???) to ride THE BIG “I” . What a Hoot! The day began rainy but improved over the afternoon (sun!!!), but the trail was treacherous. The trail was so saturated, it was hard to keep your momentum, can’t complain cause it was the most fun. This has got to be my most very favorite trail – its so challenging, especially if you try to “clean” everything. I decided that I was the REAL man of the ride because out of 11 bikes, my bike was the only hardtail, and I realized once I got home that I had a very bald rear tire…hehehehe. Johnny looked at his bike after we got home too and realized that his rear axle was broken….ooops.

Bit of a “cluster” occured when 3 guys in the group didn’t wanna do the upper section – deciding that we “meet” at the next section, would have to wait for about 10 mins for the group that DID do the upper section. Our group of 8 ran the upper section, waiting only long enough for the 8 to stay together – get to the “meeting” spot and the 3 boys aren’t there…..hang around a while….”aww well, let’s keep going – they probably blew us off or missed the turn or something…”. Unknown to us was that the 3 boys re-decided to follow us on the upper section…in the back of their minds they were also thinking that we’d think that they took off too…..If we had known that they’d be changing their minds…well – we woulda waited! All’s well that ends well however……

Day ended with many beers, followed watching the game and a fine Roast Sunday Dinner at the Raven Pub. Perfect Day!

Joy!
